Wynonna, Husband Cactus Moser Perform Together for First Time Post-Accident

Wynonna and her husband, musician Cactus Moser, have been reunited on stage. The newlyweds performed together in Canada last week, marking the drummer's first performance since the August motorcycle accident that resulted in having his leg amputated. According to the Regina Leader-Post newspaper in Saskatchewan, the crowd celebrated the milestone with a "lengthy standing ovation."

"It's been a long way from Aug. 18 to here. It's truly a miracle," Wynonna said, referring to the accident, which forced the band to reschedule numerous shows, including the one in Regina this past Tuesday (Nov. 27).

The accident, which took place in the Black Hills of South Dakota just two months after their wedding, was life altering for the couple in more ways than the obvious.

"He was a maverick and then, the next thing I know, he's like a newborn, in that every two hours it was like, 'What can I do for you?'" Wynonna told The Boot. "He taught me -- and I can't believe I'm saying this -- to be selfless. I'm so in a world that is selfish in terms of it's always about me -- Wynonna Inc., Wy's next gig, Wy's on tour, it's all about Wy. All of a sudden I have my hair in a ponytail and I'm a wife. I didn't get applause, a standing ovation or an award. I was doing my duty as a wife. It was very strange at first, I have to admit. The rhinestones had to be hung up and I had to put on good stretchy clothing that was washable. It was very weird but it has taught me a lesson I needed to learn."

Cactus was supposed to spend nearly a month in rehab after the amputation, but was out in eight days. Ever since, he's been chomping at the bit to get back to work. While last week marked his first time on stage, he's been getting in hours at the studio.

"I'm ready to get back to work, whatever it takes," he told The Boot at the beginning of August. "Put me on a padded seat and get me in there. We're making a brand-new record here! So, we're back in the studio with three or four songs to record. ... Everybody who has been through this say it's the muscle between the ears that you have to work out to be OK."

Wy is currently on her Christmas tour, which stops next in Newark, Ohio, on Dec. 6. (See more tour dates here.) She's also working on a new album, with its first single expected in early 2013.
