"It's our light at the end of the tunnel," Miranda tells Us Weekly. "We can stop rushing around and just be together."
To kick off the holiday season, the couple performed "Home" on Blake's "Not-So-Family Christmas" special, which aired last night (Dec. 3) on NBC. Now they can focus on their favorite traditions, like the "Over" singer decorating the house, a habit he inherited from his mother, Dorothy Shackleford.
"Blake likes to pick food out of a magazine for me to make," his bride reveals. "Last year it was gourmet mac 'n' cheese. It took me three hours!"
The reason for the season is really just spending time together, though. "We just have fun together," Miranda explains. "I think romance and love stories are great, but at the end of the day, you've got to be friends."
Blake is in Los Angeles for "The Voice" until mid-December, while Miranda is off the road until mid-January, giving the pair plenty of time together.
