Blake Shelton's version of the Christmas song, "New Kid in Town" caught the attention of actress Roma Downey ("Touched By an Angel") and producer Mark Burnett ("The Voice," "Survivor"), who are using the track to preview their television miniseries called "The Bible." The 10-hour series features Downey as Mother Mary and will span The Bible from its Genesis to Revelation chapters, depicting some of the holy book's most pivotal stories, including Noah's ark and the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus. It will premiere on the History Channel on March 3, and will be available on DVD shortly after.
Blake's "New Kid in Town" is featured on his latest album, Cheers It's Christmas, as a duet with Kelly Clarkson. The video below, however, is an exclusive solo version, featuring only "The Voice" coach's vocals and previewing the miniseries.
I love it. Blake showed us what Christmas is supposed to be about. I love Blake and Miranda. I am glad that they are both doing well. I always wondered why Miranda lost to Carrie and Taylor who were not that good and Blake was never nominated. I am glad they are getting the recognition that they deserve.
