The secret is out! Luke Bryan will co-host the 48th annual Academy of Country Music Awards with returning host Blake Shelton. The news was revealed today (Jan. 8) after an ACM Twitter campaign to "unlock" the name of Blake's new co-host. The "Over" singer has split emcee duties the past two years with Reba McEntire, who had to decline this year because of her commitment to her new sitcom, "Malibu Country." In taking over Reba's mic, Luke will mark his first time ever hosting a live television event.

While Luke and Blake split hosting duties at the live broadcast from Las Vegas' MGM Grand Garden Arena, Brad Paisley will host the 3rd annual ACM Fan Jam in remote broadcast from the Orleans Arena in Sin City. Performers joining Brad at the Fan Jam will be announced soon.

The ACM Awards will air live from Las Vegas, April 7 at 8:00 PM ET (delayed PT) on CBS. Nominees are expected to be revealed in the coming weeks.

The day after the ACM Awards, the Academy of Country Music will film its 4th annual televised concert special. Several of country music's biggest names are expected to perform at the April 8 concert, which will air at a later date on CBS. Ticket proceeds will benefit ACM Lifting Lives, which benefits several charitable organizations.

I think this is great. Blake and Luke together are going to be fantastic. I think Blake could have done it by himself but if he wants company I think Luke is the right choice.

I really hope the special after the ACM's is for Reba. She deserves it so much after everything she has done for country music and the ACM's. I love Luke Bryan, and I hope he does a great job................but I won't be sad if Reba wants her job back next year. Remember....she took a break in 2005 from hosting duties. And that year, they didn't have an actual host.
