Dierks' tweets continued throughout the night as he searched the area. Among the friends in the music community who joined in the search effort was Mike Dungan, the head of his record label. Early Monday morning, Dierks excitedly tweeted: "omg. my wife just told me someone found jake on facebook and is bringing him to our house!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
After man and best friend were reunited, Dierks posted this heartwarming photo (above) of himself with Jake and a woman identified as "Anna Belle." Dierks noted that the woman "swooped in and picked Jake up after he was almost hit by another car." He also tweeted: "one of the happiest days of my life. grown men don't cry ... yeah right. thank you to everyone on facebook and twitter that spread the word."
The wayward pup, a mixed breed which Dierks has jokingly said is a combination of "Spitz and one night stand" has been a ubiquitous presence throughout the Grammy-nominated entertainer's career. In addition to having appeared in Dierks' videos "What Was I Thinkin'," "Up on the Ridge" and "Feel That Fire," the lovable pup is also on the cover of his dad's self-titled debut album.
