Worst Country Songs That Were Big Hits: Readers' Poll

Earlier this week, The Boot took to Facebook and Twitter to ask fans, "What's the worst country song that, unbelievably to you, was a big hit?" Your response was overwhelming! For some of your answers, like Toby Keith's "Red Solo Cup," even the artist himself agrees (kinda). "It is the stupidest song I ever heard in my life, but it's so stupid it's good," Toby once told The Boot, laughing about his unexpected, multi-platinum-selling hit. But some of your answers surprised us, as there are other award-winning, beloved singers who aren't always making what is music to your ears.

Anything Taylor Swift sings could be on this list. I just don't understand why people like her. Her song lyrics sound like they were taken from a note that some middle school girl was passing during class. Her music is nothing but inane garbage.

How is We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together on this list? It's not a bad song. Red Solo Cup, now there's a lousy song. And it tells kids they should get drunk. That song is the worst ever.

you know other than you I don't see any other Likes for boy crazy Taylor as far as any of her songs country .......when her songs come on the radio I turn it off The bottom line is she can't sing,can't wright,and damn sure an't country

Technically, Taylor Swift is what they call POP COUNTRY cuz her music crosses over. Her song is meant for teens and tweenies. I don't think that any right mature minded adult like her music really, but I could be wrong.

that's true. her music crosses over. could be pop-country, rock-country, pop rock-country. there's another genre in SOME of her songs but whatever it is, there's still a country in it. her first (self-titled album) and second (Fearless) album are full country. her third (Speak Now) album are all country but there are 3 or 4 songs that crosses over another genre with country in it. her fourth album has two songs that are not country which are 'never' and 'trouble' other than that her latest and fourth album is all country. and her songs are relateable.
