Blake Shelton Handshake Is Wounded Soldier's Wish Come True

Blake Shelton Brendan Marrocco HandshakeBaltimore Sun, NBC/Universal

There are a lot of firsts surrounding Army vet Brendan Marrocco. In 2009, he became the first U.S. serviceman to survive a quadruple amputation, after his armored vehicle was bombed in Iraq. Six weeks ago, he was the first person to have a double-arm transplant performed at Johns Hopkins Hospital. Now, he'd like to share another first with Blake Shelton.

In a story by Henderson, Ky., TV station WEHT, the soldier talks about how great it would be if his first handshake was with the country superstar. Last night, a fan tweeted the story directly to Blake, earning the response, "Wow.. Speechless. I will make this happen!!" from "The Voice" coach.

After that, the Oklahoma native posted a message directly to Marrocco. "Hey Brendan @BMarr86.... I can't WAIT to shake the hand of an American Hero/Stud... You my brother."

To which the brave vet responded, "Holy mother of God!! I can't wait. I'm a huge fan and really looking forward to it. Thank you."

Blake Shelton is a good guy.
He has said it many times, he pretends to be a huge jerk to screw with people on twitter.
He is going to do something really kind and uplifting. I hope their meeting goes well.

Blake is a phony. Google abouthis bragging about killing turtles in the road. You won't buy his music after the truth about this man comes out!

Thats exactly why I love Blake so much. He is so kind hearted, although he has a habit of speaking sometimes before he thinks, I completely understand that as it's been a problem of mine forever!

Good for you, Blake. Our servicemen deserve so much more than they are getting. So grateful that this one received the transplants and hope they work well throughout his life. Thank you for your sacrifice, Brendan Marrocco.

I have seen Blake on The Voice tv show and although I am not particularly a country music fan I agree that he seems to have a big heart as do the other coaches generally speaking that tv show is a lot better than American Idol in my opinion there is a commitment to musicality and conveying the song's message which I appreciate I hope the wounded soldier's recovery goes well
