"I had some time off in January, and kind of reflected on last year and the way this one is starting with the new single," he explained to the show hosts, Hoda Kotb and Kathie Lee Gifford. "I try not to think too hard about this stuff, because once I start thinking about stuff I tend to screw it up."
The 37-year-old also debuted the video for the album's first single, "Sure Be Cool If You Did," on the morning talk show. (Watch it below.) "Any show that purposely says they have 130 days of drinking in a row, that's the show I want to debut my video on," he jokes, "because they'll be drunk enough that they'll actually think it's a good video!"
Miranda Lambert's hubby is also getting ready to resume his role as a coach on Season 4 of "The Voice." The hit reality TV talent show will feature Shakira and Usher filling Cee Lo Green and Christina Aguilera's temporarily vacated seats, as well as returning coach Adam Levine. Blake says everyone is adjusting well to the new cast.
"We had a thing going with the four of us when it was Cee Lo and Christina and it's becoming a new thing now with the four of us," the country crooner notes. "You almost have to learn how to communicate all over again, because you have all these inside jokes and ways we understand each other now, it kind of has to start all over again ... But it didn't stop Adam and I from giving them crap."
Season 4 of "The Voice" will kick off on March 25 at 8:00 PM ET on NBC. Blake also has several concerts scheduled, including stops in New York, Florida and Texas. See a list of his upcoming shows here.
