Lynyrd Skynyrd Guitarist Gary Rossington Hospitalized

Lynyrd Skynyrd fans will have to wait to see the iconic band perform at Hard Rock Biloxi. The rockers canceled their show at the Mississippi casino due to guitarist Gary Rossington falling ill.

The Sun Herald reports that a statement was released via email, announcing that Rossington was hospitalized at St. John's Hospital in Jackson, Wyo., with an abdominal infection. The band will provide more details to Hard Rock when they become available, as Rossington is awaiting further tests.

A representative for the casino sends well wishes, writing in a statement, "Hard Rock Biloxi sends our thoughts and well wishes to Mr. Rossington and his family during this time."

Refunds for the show will be available at ticketholders' points of purchase.

Yes, there was only one true Lynyrd Synyrd band and that's long gone. Hope Gary gets well soon. On a side note,...remember the 2nd Jefferson Starship band of the 80's? Now that was horrible! lol. Nothing like the original.

Hope he gets well soon. Best concert I've ever attended - Skynyrd opened for Zz Top at a venue I can't remember the name of in CT. Fantastic show. Skynyrd had us standing for their entire set and were way better than ZZ.
