Taylor Swift Vanity Fair Interview: Superstar Responds to Tina Fey Joke & Dating Rumors

Taylor Swift covers the April issue of Vanity Fair and responds to the seemingly never-ending criticism about her love life and songwriting in the mag's candid cover story. The music superstar is clearly still stung by Golden Globes host Tina Fey's bit during this year's ceremony, in which she made the comment to Taylor, "You stay away from Michael J. Fox's son," referencing the actor's son Sam, who served as the night's Mr. Golden Globe. "She needs some 'me time' to learn about herself," the comedienne continued.

When asked about the Globes joke, as well as "mean girls," in general, Taylor responded, "Katie Couric is one of my favorite people, because she said to me she had heard a quote that she loved, that said, 'There's a special place in hell for women who don't help other women.'"

The offense seems to hinge on the assumption that the songstress is "boy crazy," to which she insists she is not. "For a female to write about her feelings, and then be portrayed as some clingy, insane, desperate girlfriend in need of making you marry her and have kids with her, I think that's taking something that potentially should be celebrated -- a woman writing about her feelings in a confessional way -- that's taking it and turning it and twisting it into something that is frankly a little sexist," she explains.

The chart-topper goes on to tackle the tabloids that have fed this perception. "If you want some big revelation, since 2010 I have dated exactly two people," says Taylor, with Vanity Fair clarifying that she means Conor Kennedy and One Direction's Harry Styles. "[T]he fact that there are slide shows of a dozen guys that I either hugged on a red carpet or met for lunch or wrote a song with ... it's just kind of ridiculous. It's why I have to avoid the tabloid part of our culture, because they turn you into a fictional character."

Taylor Swift makes me sick to my stomach every time I see her. I'd still probably slam my meat pole up her tight anus for hours if given the chance though.

Taylor was offended by the joke that Tina and Amy made about her but then ended up making fun of Harry Styles by singing "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together" and talking in a phony British accent at the Grammy's. It seems that Taylor can dish it out but she can't take it. And to say there's a special place in hell for people like Tina and Amy is pretty bad and really shows Taylor's true colors.

Taylor is the epitome of the term "hypocrite."

So wait, Taylor can write songs bashing her ex boyfriends new girlfriend (better than revenge), but when a female makes a rather weak joke she gets offended and wishes that they would go to you-know-where? I like Taylor but she is becoming the example of someone who can dish it but not take it. It may be an ego thing. For example, she is mad over that joke, but she never publicly commented on her smirk when Adele won the Original Song at the Golden Globes. I like her, I still think she is a better role model for young girls than other singers, but someone on her team may need to bring her back down to earth. People on the Boot are standing up for her, which is fine, but when you read comments on other sites on her behavior, people aren't so nice, and that is putting it mildly. I don't want to see the drama surrounding her become bigger than the artist, that is the kind of stuff that can ruin careers. Look at Rihanna - no one talks about her music anymore, all the talk is about her personal life, and she is quite frankly becoming a joke to the public. I'd like to see Taylor step back from the drama, maybe limit her interviews, and let her music take center stage because she does make great music.

You think she is a better role model for young girls than other singers? She's a self-righteous, egotistical diva; and for no reason at all because she has zero talent. That's the LAST person I'd want to be a role model to young girls.

I like her music but she is dating inappropriately young men. She's not in high school and most people her age have graduated college moved on are planning weddings and she's stuck in this enchanted phase of her life. i agree she had some amazing adolescence but let it be over. No one respects people in their mid 20's dating high schoolers.

I didn't like her early music but she always seems like a sweet girl. I am glad that she did well b/c she is a role model and a nice girl.

Taking up for herself with insults? How "mean" of her.

Every little troll tries to make money off telling stories about Taylor since so many people can't stand her success and somehow believe the endless crap spewed out by media in hopes of sales. The girl is a creative genius and one of the kindest people around, so how about some respect? Every time she works with a guy (how many hundreds of men work for HER?)

Creative genius? Buy a dictionary--you REALLY don't know the meaning of the term if you're using it to describe Taylor Swift.
