New Faces: Alex Woodard

Hometown: San Diego, Calif.

Sounds Like:
A young Tom Petty

Current Single: 'Beautiful Now'
[
Buy it on iTunes]

Why We Dig Him:
Woodard started his entertainment career as a kid, with a small acting role on 'The Love Boat.' But his true love is music. This self-taught guitarist and pianist was named Singer/Songwriter of the Year at the LA Music Awards. His upcoming album focuses on the central message of getting older -- but not in a depressing way. For instance, its first single, 'Beautiful Now,' is about how women get even hotter after they have kids.

New Faces: Jamey Johnson

Hometown: Montgomery, Ala.

Sounds Like:
Montgomery Gentry meets Travis Tritt

Current Single:
'In Color'
[Buy it on iTunes]

Why We Dig Him:
Ok, so he's not a brand new face, as we remember Johnson from his touching debut single, 'The Dollar,' back in 2006. But when he lost his first record deal, this talented tunesmith didn't throw in the towel. Instead he started writing more, penning huge hits like 'Ladies Love Country Boys' for Trace Adkins and 'Give It Away' for George Strait. He's now writing for himself again, and if the first single from his upcoming album is any indication, we think his second time around as a singer will be a charm.

New Faces: Carter's Chord

Members: Emily, Becky and Joanna Robertson

Hometown:
Los Angeles

Current Single: 'Different Breed' [Buy it on iTunes]

Why We Dig 'Em: These sisters have come a long way since singing on Waylon Jennings' 1998 country album for kids. The singing-songwriting trio has wowed audiences with their delectable harmonies and impressive piano and guitar playing. Carter's Chord's debut album is being released today on all major online music outlets. The CD is a family affair, as it was co-produced by their dad and Toby Keith, and includes one song written by the woman who inspired the band's name -- their mom, Carter Robertson.

New Faces: Crystal Shawanda

Hometown: Ontario, Canada

Sounds Like: Trisha Yearwood with a little more grit

Debut Single: 'You Can Let Go'
[Buy it on iTunes]

Why We Love Her: Anyone who considers themselves a 'Daddy's Little Girl' will love Crystal's heartwarming debut single. 'You Can Let Go' chronicles a father-daughter relationship from the little girl's first bike ride to the father's death. It's the first song from this talented singer's upcoming CD, 'Dawn of a New Day' -- which is what Shawanda means in the Ojibwe language.

New Faces: One Flew South

Members

Sounds Like: Keith Urban meets the Eagles

Current Single: 'My Kind of Beautiful' [Buy it on iTunes]

Why We Dig Them: These guys are multi-instrumentalists, but it's their delectable harmonies that shine through on One Flew South's debut album, 'The Last of the Good Guys.' Their old-school country-rock style takes us back to the sounds of the Eagles, the Wings and even the Beach Boys -- but with a modern spin.

Why We Love Him: The U.S. is finally starting to pick up on what Canadian country fans have known for years -- that Adam Gregory is a hit-maker. With a voice just as sexy as his looks, he has been a bright star on Canadian radio since he was just 15 years old. Now, at 22, Gregory finally makes his American radio debut with a song that would make any girl want to revisit their 'Crazy Days' -- just as long as he's along for the ride.

Why We Love Her: With vocals that sound much more mature than her 16 years, this rising star has both a powerful set of pipes and a good head on her shoulders. "Of course I want to become famous and win awards," she told Country Weekly, "but to make people happy with my music is my main goal."

New Faces: Sarah Johns

Hometown: Pollard, KY

Sounds Like: Lee Ann Womack meets Kellie Pickler

Debut Single: 'The One in the Middle'
[Buy it on iTunes]

Why We Love Her: Sarah wasn't allowed to listen to country music as a child, so this little rebel smuggled Patsy Cline and Tammy Wynette tapes, which later influenced her own songwriting. After paying her dues singing in restaurants and cleaning tour buses, Sarah charmed country radio with her sassy debut single, 'The One in the Middle,' followed by her hilarious second single, 'He Hates Me.'

New Faces: Laura Bryna

Hometown: Mount Airy, Maryland

Sounds Like: Lee Ann Womack meets Dolly Parton

Debut Single: 'Make A Wish'
[Buy it on iTunes]

Why We Love Her: This singer-songwriter's debut single was inspired by the Make-A-Wish Foundation, a cause to which she dedicates much of her time. Bryna's younger brother was in a six-month coma following a brain aneurysm, so her frequent trips to the hospital showed her the joy that Make-A-Wish brings to critically ill children. Bryna's own wishes have come true with the release of her debut album, 'Trying to Be Me.'
