8. "Over You" - Miranda Lambert (Songwriters: Miranda Lambert & Blake Shelton)

Miranda's sassy side may dominate her music, but it's her sentimental side that truly makes this star shine. Her CMA award-winning "Over You," co-written with husband Blake Shelton, is perhaps her most emotional tune yet, as it was inspired by the untimely death of the brother-in-law she never met. The lyrics are arguably simplistic, but that actually makes the song more universally relatable, as it can also echo the pain of a breakup or of any sort of relationship that comes to an unexpected end. Miranda's delivery of the song is anything but simplistic, exuding raw emotion that makes this one of the best tracks in her stellar catalog.
