'Once Upon a Christmas,' Dolly Parton & Kenny Rogers

A sure cure for the winter blahs, this album of seasonal duets (with half the songs written by Dolly) hasn't aged too badly in the more than 25 years since it was first released. While the original (out-of-print) 10-track disc is preferable, one song it's missing -- 'Hard Candy Christmas' (ironically, not penned by Dolly), which was added to the nine-cut reissue -- can be found elsewhere. Both artists have made other holiday music but none as merry and bright as this.
