During a recent night out at the trendy L.A. sushi restaurant Koi, Chuck Wicks and Julianne Hough were stopped by paparazzi and questioned on a number of subjects. In a YouTube video by Hollywood.tv, the couple share the not-so-surprising revelation that they're rooting for Ty Murray to make it to the 'Dancing with the Stars' finals.

"If Ty won, that would be awesome," says Chuck. "He's the last country boy left."

Asked to name the best thing about being teamed up on the show, Chuck says the experience helped the pair learn much more about each other, leading Julianne to joke that what Chuck discovered about her was "I'm crazy and I'm a dictator!"

'Dancing With the Stars' first real-life couple has been eliminated from the show. Country singers Chuck Wicks and Julianne Hough were let go Tuesday night, despite scoring an admirable 51 out of 60 points on their last dance. Wicks ends up placing sixth in the 'Dancing' celebrity crop -- an impressive finish given he was quite the underdog in the beginning.

"To all the critics that thought we weren't going to last -- we did it," Wicks said after learning his 'Dancing' fate. "Now I'm going to go out on tour and enjoy doing what I love, and that's country music."

As 'Dancing with the Stars' reaches its halfway point this season, real-life couple Chuck Wicks and Julianne Hough continue to generate lots of heat on the dance floor. In fact, when Wicks landed on his knees his front of Hough at the conclusion of their Viennese waltz on last week's show, it seemed to many that he was preparing to propose marriage. Not gonna happen, says Wicks -- not on live TV anyway. But the subject of marriage has certainly come up.

"We have a great relationship," Wicks tells TVGuide.com. "We definitely talk about it. It's definitely in the future. It's supposed to be a surprise! I'm not going to do it on the show, but it's not like we don't talk about it or know that that's the next step. All in due time. Right now we love where we are and want to grow from where we are. That's the safest answer in the world, huh?"

Chuck Wicks talked to The Boot about the hit he wrote with Mike Mobley.

Mike and I started talking about the war overseas. A lot of songs are written about the war, but sometimes we forget to talk about how we deal with that back home.

'Man Of The House' is a song about a family. They love each other and are supporting each other. They are every day Americans, and the dad has to go overseas and do what he does best. We wanted to write it from the standpoint of how that family and how that little kid, the man of the house, deals with it while his dad is overseas.

While most of Nashville has been shivering through single digit temperatures this week, Chuck Wicks has been enjoying the Los Angeles warmth and getting a chance to write with an R&B superstar.

"I'm writing for the next record," Wicks tells The Boot. "I'm actually writing with one of my heroes, Brian McKnight. It's so cool!"

Wicks credits his music publisher, Ron Stuve, with helping him make the connection. "I told him that I'd love to write something for the next record with Brian McKnight. I've always loved his music. I think he's a tremendous singer. Ron called his management and said, 'We've got this kid, Chuck Wicks, who is writing for his second record. Let me send you some of his stuff.' So we sent them three songs from the current record and they called up and said, 'We love it! Have him come out!'"

Chuck Wicks has a lot to be thankful for this Thanksgiving. In addition to two hit singles from his debut album, 'Starting Now,' he also has a new love, fellow country songbird Julianne Hough. The pair met while touring with Brad Paisley over the summer, and while it's smooth sailing now, Wicks admits it didn't start off very promising.

"My famous pick-up line was, 'The catering is great,' and then I walked away I was so nervous," Wicks admits to PEOPLE magazine.

Chuck Wicks may not have had the November 4 election date in mind when he recorded his current single "All I Ever Wanted," but one thing he definitely wants is to participate in the election process this year. The singer says that when he was a youngster, and even after he was eligible to vote, his mind was on other things.

"As a kid growing up, I never got heavily involved in politics. I was worried about girls and playin' baseball and goin' to college and that kind of thing," Wicks admits. The singer says that now he's a little older and more mature, his interests have broadened. He's started to look at the world in a little different light and understands that he needs to let his voice be heard.
