If you're traveling in Mississippi, don't be surprised someday if you spot Elvis Presley -- or at least, the image of the King on state license plates. CMT reports that a drive is underway in Presley's hometown of Tupelo to encourage Mississippi residents to register for a new specialty plate which would bear the likeness of the iconic singer. The Mississippi legislature approved a plan last year to produce the plates, but 300 applications to purchase them are needed before production would actually get into gear. So far, just over 120 people have applied. The plates cost $31 more than regular tags, but proceeds from their sale would help raise funds for a youth center and aquatic complex.
