Willie Nelson was arrested in Sierra Blanca, Texas Friday morning (Nov. 26) for allegedly possessing six ounces of marijuana. The 77-year-old singer was traveling from California to his home state of Texas when his tour bus pulled into a U.S. Border Patrol checkpoint around 9AM, which lead to an officer's discovery of the illegal substance.

An officer smelled a strong odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle and ordered a search to be done. During an extensive review of the tour bus, a substantial amount of pot was found, which Nelson claimed was his. Besides Nelson, three others were arrested.

The 'Country Music' creator was taken into custody and booked at the Hudspeth County Jail in Texas. Nelson was released the same day after he posted a $2,500 bond.

Despite the rocker's recent run-in with the law, his fans have overlooked his illegal pastime and are currently campaigning for Nelson to earn a Nobel Peace Prize.
